Welcome to the Year 5 & 6 Home Learning for the week beginning 1^st February.

Yet again, a great week of home learning. It is great to see so many of you putting in so much effort. We have seen amazing annotated images of the Golden Gate Bridge and received incredibly emotive writing retelling Abridged! I do wonder who managed to create the strongest spaghetti bridge – we have seen some incredible ones.

This week we will be looking at wonders of the earth (from earth quakes to volcanoes) and how they impact the amazing state of California. Did you know, due to California’s location it can experience 10,000 earthquakes a year? That’s roughly 800 a month.

Alongside your exploration of these incredible events, you will enter the world of journalism; learning how to entrap a reader, educate an audience and make facts fascinating. We may have budding writers, destined for The Telegraph or Washington Post.

This week is also Children’s Mental Health Week. Get yourselves logged in to an after-school club with PASS to keep both your body and mind healthy.
