Visit from The Freedom Cafe
As part of their 'Sow, Grow, Farm' topic, Years 5 and 6 enjoyed a visit from Daniel, who runs Freedom Coffee (you may have seen their stand next to BGPS in the mornings), to tell us all about how coffee is produced. We learnt how coffee grows in tropical climates, often at high altitudes. Daniel showed us how to spot ripe coffee cherries, before explaining how they are processed and transported to the UK. He brought in some unprocessed coffee beans and we compared them to the milled beans with their wonderful aroma.
We are very grateful to Daniel for giving up his time and for giving us such a fascinating and informative talk.
