Around the world in 10 days
‘Around the world in 10- days’ was our Whole School Geography Experience which took place during the last two weeks of term 5. What an amazing two weeks it was!
The first week saw all of us visit Borough Green to carry out traffic and footfall surveys – followed up with analysis of the data and drawing charts to represent it. We also completed, map reading, compass work and orienteering. Our second week saw every class study in detail one country chosen by their teacher. These were the chosen countries: Bay - Kenya; Willow - Denmark; Myrtle – China; Sycamore – Spain; Poplar – Argentina; Cherry – Italy; Oak – USA, Maple – Finland and Acacia – Scotland. Your children are now very knowledgeable about the country they studied including the country’s: location, landscape, rivers, cities, flags, traditions (food, clothing, dance and festivals). Acacia even had the opportunity to taste Haggis, they loved it!
