Junior Duke Award

Sign your child up before September 29th

As a school, we have signed up with Junior Dukes to offer a programme for the academic year. This is a fantastic opportunity to develop independence, confidence, resilience and self-motivation as they complete challenges to gain the award.

The are ten levels, one per year group, named: the Nano Duke, Micro Duke, Mini Duke, Junior Duke and Senior Duke Awards. These are all aimed at helping children from the age of 3 to 13 to learn a large variety of life skills as well as broadening their horizons and understanding others’ cultures. Each of these levels has a selection of challenges and, in order to complete a level, the children need to finish a pre-determined number of these successfully. These include skills such as First Aid, ICT, Eco Awareness, Drama, Music, Sport and other life skills such as cookery and puncture repair. The children will be given some of the necessary skills in school, but most of the challenges will require a good deal of time and effort out with school with friends and family. On completion of a level, a well-earned certificate and badge will be awarded. Children should aim to finish their challenges by the end of the school year. However, if your child’s booklet remains incomplete by the end of the school year, he or she may carry it on into the next year. If your child would like to take part, please follow the link or QR code to book. This link will close on September 29th and the booklets will then be sent to our school for the children taking part.

There is a financial contribution for the resources provided with the award and this will be requested on the booking form
