School Lunches

Caterlink School Lunches

At Borough Green Primary School we recognise the importance of a healthy diet and the significant connection between a healthy diet and a pupil’s ability to learn effectively and achieve high standards at school. We strive to continually raise awareness of the necessity for healthy eating by all members of the school community.

From the 2nd September 2025 our school lunches for pupils and staff with be provided by Caterlink Catering Services who will be preparing fresh food in our school kitchen. We will work closely with them to ensure their services meets the needs of our pupils, requesting changes to menus and service as appropriate for those children with allergies and intolerances.

Below are copies of the Kent Spring/Summer menus that will rotate every 3 weeks. The Autumn/Winter menu will be issued after the October half term.

The price will be £3.05 per meal and you can pick and choose which days you would like your child to have a school meal. All payments are to be made in advance of ordering food options and both are to be made via Arbor.

We ask that all school meals must be pre ordered by 9am each day and if you wish you can order a week, or for a term in advance. If no order or payment is received via Arbor then the expectation will be that you are providing your child with a packed lunch.

Universal Infant Free School Meals

If your child is in year R, year 1 or year 2 they are entitled to universal free school meals - all children in these year groups can get a free meal at school each day.

You will however still need to pre order your child's choices in Arbor.

Free School Meals

If your child is under 19 and in full-time education, and you receive certain benefits, you may be able to get free school meals for your child, To check your eligibility and make an application, please use the below link:

Children entitled to Free School Meals will again need to pre order their meal choice via Arbor.

Food allergies or intolerances

If your child has a food allergy or intolerance you will need to complete the below form and return to the school office.

Packed Lunches

Your child may have a school meal or bring a packed lunch. For safety, lunch containers should be unbreakable with no glass containers. Please ensure you provide your child with a balanced meal to encourage the children to eat healthily. We would ask that you do not include sweets, chocolate or fizzy drinks as these tend to fill the children up without providing much nutritional benefit. A polite reminder that we are a NUT FREE school, so NO nut products or foods containing nuts.
