This is the second week of our voyage with Charles Darwin: hopefully you're used to the changeable weather at sea and your stomach has settled down! Charles has not really found his sea legs and is eager to leave HMS Beagle and set foot on dry land. He has been reading scientific books on the journey and is sure the expedition to the volcanic Galapagos islands will be an invaluable opportunity to collect specimens of plants, rocks and creatures. Darwin's assistant, Syms, is going to be busy collecting and packing a variety of weird and wonderful things to send back to England.
