Welcome message from the Co-Chair Governors
Firstly, by way of introductions, we are Charles Copping and Claire Nash, the newly appointed Co-Chairs of the school's governing body, elected at the board meeting on Thursday 21st September 2023.
We're looking forward to an exciting school year ahead and playing a vital role in driving up school and pupil performance and ensuring that resources are used effectively to give every child at Borough Green the best possible education.
Thank you and Welcome
We would like to thank the outgoing Co-Chairs George Booth and Richard Pearce for their hard work and dedication and extend this gratitude to Stephen Cole (Vice Chairman), our Clerk and all Borough Green Governors who work extremely hard behind the scenes.
We would like to extend a warm welcome to our newly appointed Governors, Tammy Flower, Gary Redrup, Faye Wood and Jayne Ingman all of whom we look forward to working with.
We want to welcome Mr Cooper and all our new teachers, TAs and school staff who recently joined us and say a huge thank you to staff who worked extremely hard over the summer break and into the academic year.
What is the role of the Governing Body?
The Governing Body concentrates on three key areas:
- Ensuring clarity of vision, ethos and strategic direction
- Holding the Headteacher to account for the educational performance of the school and its pupils
- Overseeing the financial performance of the school and making sure its money is well spent
The governing body meet each term and visit the school to undertake monitoring visits and other activities over the course of the academic year.
For further information about the work we do, we encourage you to look at the school website: https://www.bgpschool.kent.sch.uk/page/?title=Governors&pid=36.
Where can you find us?
We attend many of the school's events throughout the year. Please do come and have a chat with us.
Finally, we hope you have a restful half term and look forward to seeing you around the school over the forthcoming year.
Charles & Claire
