Terms 3 and 4
Thank you for your support throughout terms 1 and 2. The children have settled brilliantly and are loving school. They have made fantastic progress and lots of friends.
Curriculum Outline Terms 3 and 4
This term we will continue teaching a daily letters and sounds session. We will continue to send home words for your children to learn to read or spell. These will be changed as and when we feel they are ready.
We hope that all children will now begin to use their phonic knowledge in their reading and writing and show that they can hear sounds in words.
In Maths we will begin to look at adding and subtracting using practical resources. We will also include pattern, measure and shape.
We look forward to welcoming many of you to the Child Initiated Sessions and still have space on the later dates should any of you wish to attend. We will let you know when your session is via a note in the book bags. Please continue to check your children’s bags daily.
Finally, thank you for your offers of help. If any parents still would like to come in and help/listen to reading please speak to one of us. We hope to get started with those that have now completed their checks as soon as possible.
We hope this covers all the information needed. We will continue to add to the Early Years Blog on the website with news of our week.
If any parents still do not have access to Tapestry please speak to a member of Early Years Staff and we will be able to set this up for you.
